Dear Educator;

We'd all agree that with so many gadgets available for our vehicles, it is easy to see how one might become distracted while driving. Those in-car distractions are the leading cause of auto accidents in America, leading to far too many injuries and deaths. As an educator, you are in the best possible role to illustrate to students what distracted driving looks like, and how to avoid it. That's why Bridgestone Americas is pleased to present their Teens Drive Smart Road Show Rally 2011 Tour, a high school grant contest promoting safe driving and the importance of learning these behaviors before a driver sits behind the wheel.

So as your students head back to school this fall ask, "Are you ready to rally?" Teens interested in participating in this contest will create a 30-second to two-minute video describing what they have done in their community to spread the safe driving message and/or what they would like to do in the future to alert others about the dangers of driving distracted, and why a road show rally should come to their school. Teens may participate in this contest as an individual or as a group. Entrants will be judged by three criteria: Creativity, Need and Story and are to submit their videos by October 7th. The winning school will receive a Teens Drive Smart Road Show Rally which will include a game show, pizza party, and more in addition to a $5,000 donation to their school for the purpose of continuing to share the safe-driving message within the community! The second and third place schools will receive a $2,500 donation.
